Quick Maharashtrian pithla made with besan and dal — rustic comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Sudarshan toor dal
  • 2 tbsp besan
  • Mustard, cumin, garlic, curry leaves

  1. Cook a small amount of toor dal. Keep it slightly watery.
  2. In another pan, heat oil, add mustard, cumin, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves.
  3. Add besan mixed with water. Stir to avoid lumps.
  4. Add cooked dal, turmeric, salt. Cook until thick.
  5. Serve with bhakri or rice.
