Dal Tadka Restaurant Style

Rich and creamy restaurant-style dal tadka with smoky tempering.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Wazir Oily Tukda Tuver Dal
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 6 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 3 dried red chilies
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • Red chili, coriander powder, salt

Instructions

  1. Soak 1.5 cups dal for 30 min. Pressure cook with turmeric and salt until soft.
  2. Mash the dal well. Add water to desired consistency.
  3. For tadka: Heat ghee, add cumin, garlic, dried red chilies, hing.
  4. Add tomato puree, cook until oil separates. Add red chili powder, coriander powder.
  5. Pour tadka over dal. Simmer 10 min.
