Khatti Meethi Dal

Sweet and tangy Gujarati dal with jaggery and tamarind.

  • 1 cup Khajoori Tuver Dal Tukda
  • 2 tbsp jaggery
  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  • Ghee, mustard, cumin, curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Cook 1 cup Khajoori dal with turmeric until soft.
  2. Add jaggery, tamarind paste, salt, green chilies. Simmer 10 min.
  3. Temper with ghee, mustard seeds, cumin, curry leaves, cinnamon, cloves.
  4. Pour tempering over dal and mix well.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice.
